Smirnoff Blue Label Vodka is the super-premium member of the Smirnoff family. Produced using demineralized and filtered water, this vodka is triple-distilled and filtered through activated charcoal to achieve the prerequisite smoothness and purity before bottling. This is indeed a unique blend. Founded by Piotr Arsenieyevich Smirnov in the 1860s and later passed down to his third son Vladimir Smirnov, the Smirnov Vodka Distillery was the first in the world to use a charcoal filtering process and is owned by Diageo today. In the late 1990s, the brand introduced flavored vodkas including Raspberry, Mandarin, Green Apple, Raspberry, Cranberry, Raspberry, Citrus, and Vanilla.
Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov created Smirnoff Blue Label in the 1860s by making use of a traditional charcoal filtration method which he developed. Vladimir Smirnov, his third son created Recipe No. 21 after escaping Russia during the October Revolution. When Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov started his distillery in Moscow in the 1860s, it was under the trading name of P.A. Smirnoff. It was later confiscated during the October Revolution when his family had to flee. Vladimir Smirnov started it up again in Istanbul, 1920.
