The Patron brand uses the agave plant for its tequila and Agave ripens about every eight years. Those with optimal sugar content are carefully sought and uprooted and a tool called a Coa is used to strip away the leaves to reveal the piña which is the heart of the agave plant. They are then baked, cooked evenly, and crushed by a volcanic stone Tahona wheel (which weighs two tons) and a roller mill.
Patron Reposado Tequila is aged in oak barrels for at least two months and blended to infuse a fresh clean taste and a hint of oak flavour. It is bright and clear with a light amber tint or pale straw appearance and is a great sipping tequila.
