The Pasquier Desvignes (Cotes Du Rhone) red wine is a Southern Rhone Red Blend that refers to several varieties of grapes that are blended to make wines in the Rhone Valley in the Southern part of France. The blend could consist of any of a large number of grape varieties of this region but this blend is usually made up of the Syrah, Grenache (both usually the dominant grapes in the mix), and Mourvedre in different proportions. Its color is ruby with purple reflections. It is bold, tannic, dry, slightly acidic, and has a fruity aroma with a spicy base.
Other grape varieties that can be found in blends from the Southern Rhone Valley area include the Carignan, Cinsaut, Clairette, Counoise, Muscardin, Terret Noir, and Vaccarese, and varieties of white grapes like Viognier or Roussanne in smaller proportions.
