Matsui – The Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky – 70CL

More than one hundred years ago when they began, Matsui Shuzo Distillery only produced Sake and Shōchū. Whiskies came into the production later, and this is their first offering. Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky is a 100% malted barley whisky, sourced from Scottish distilleries, before making their way to Japan, where it is blended with Japanese Whisky, aged, and cut to proof with the famous volcanic-stone-filtered water.

Afterward, the spirit is then distilled in copper pot stills and aged in ex-Bourbon white oak casks for a minimum of 3 years before being bottled at 46% ABV — just the perfect strength. This delightsome offering exhibits the signature flavor profile of Kurayoshi Whiskies with an emphasis on raisins, warm nuts, vanilla, and a balance of tart and sweet that harmoniously spread throughout your mouth. The light finish of Kurayoshi Pure Malt Whisky is a testimony to the pure Tottori spring water used during its distillation.
